Rangpanchami

Festival of colours, celebrated after Holi, unlike other parts of the country , Holi is celebrated in Goa by applying Gulal-vermillion powder only and no other colours are allowed by the tradition. Normally the Gulal is applied on the foreheads and cheeks of the people one meets. Depending upon the local tradition, each village celebrates this festival on a specific day. This is called Dhulwad or Gulal. Intrerstingly, male folk splash colours on each other, and women, including young girls are also take part in it. Children enjoy this festival by playing with colours, balloons filled with water. Group carry drums and other instruments, go place to place, sing, dance, throw coloured powder on each other laugh and gossip, food and drinks. It is a tradition to cook choicest sweets on this day.
On that same day, in evening procession of Navra-Navri bride and groom is a important feature of Shigmo celebration. The procession carrying the couple is greeted by crowd. Men plays the role of both husband and wife and visits each and every house of the village till the procession is over.

And thus we celebrated 5 days of holi  with fun, and it is believed that Holi is the best day to seek forgiveness from someone and start afresh
